International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English language proficiency test for non-native English language speakers, accepted by over 100 countries globally. The tests are designed to cover the full range of capabilities of an individual and identify their level of proficiency from non-user (0) to expert user (9). IELTS examinations have two different versions - IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. The Academic version caters to individuals aspiring to study in an English-speaking nation or look for professional registration. On the contrary, the General Training version is tailored for those pursuing work, secondary education, or migration to an English-speaking country. IELTS assesses your English proficiency based on four different modules- Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The listening, reading and writing are conducted on the same day whereas, speaking test is conducted either prior to the written exams or after. IELTS is scored on a scale of 0 to 9, reflecting your level of English proficiency. The overall score is calculated as the average band scored on each module. The entire IELTS test spans 2 hours and 45 minutes. The score reports are valid for two years after the test, offering a window of opportunities.

TOEFL, Test of English as a Foreign Language, is a standardized English language ability test for non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities and colleges. This test is acknowledged by over 190 countries worldwide. It is designed and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). TOEFL examination can be conducted in various formats - online, at-home, and paper-based. This adaptability empowers test takers to select the mode that best suits them. Regardless of the chosen format, the test takes a total of 4 hours to complete. Unlike IELTS examination, all the modules are tested on the same day. A unique feature is the allowance of note-taking during the test and it cannot be taken more than once every 3 days. The test is scored on a scale of 0 to 120. The test is divided into 4 different sections - Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. Each segment evaluates a specific language skill, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of your English language prowess.

PTE is a computer-based exam that focuses on real-life English. Its focus goes beyond textbooks, ensuring that your language proficiency aligns with practical communication. The test is completed within 2 hours 15 minutes, offering a streamlined experience. Being an online exam, the results are often delivered within 5 working days. The scores scale from 10 to 90 - providing a comprehensive snapshot of your language competence. PTE has 3 distinct sections - Speaking & Writing, Reading and Listening. Speaking and Writing module examines the communication skills and ability to express thoughts effectively by showcasing the verbal and written language skills. The Reading module focuses on your ability to understand written English. Lastly, Listening module measures the test taker’s ability to comprehend spoken language.

SAT Reasoning test, formerly known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test and Scholastic Assessment Test, is a comprehensive assessment developed by the College Board and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Its purpose is to assess the readiness of a student for an undergraduate degree, especially in the US. SAT is an integral part of the admission process for numerous American and Canadian universities. It unlocks doors to quality education on higher levels. SAT takes 3 hours to complete with the scores scale from 400 to 1600, offering a comprehensive glimpse into your academic readiness. An individual can partake in the SAT exam up to 7 times a year. In Nepal, the cost to partake in the SAT exams is $101. SAT has two core sections - English and Math. They are further segregated into four sections - Reading, Writing and Language, Math (no calculator), and Math (with calculator). The reading section comprises of passage questions along with some figures. The Writing and Language test section includes evaluation of passages for clarification of argument, improving word choice, changing sentence or structure, word usage, or fixing punctuation. Lastly, the Mathematics section evaluates the ability to solve complex mathematical problem with and without using a calculator.
